Meet Rio Payton Daniels. She's twenty years old and living the single life of a rogue outlaw. She's been on her own since she was about ten years old, and she didn't survive this long by being a pushover. She's a spitfire if there's ever been one and she doesn't let anyone push her around. She's not cocky by any means, and can seem quite shy and closed off during a first meeting. But that's because she's simply observing. She's an observer and has always been that way. It's how she learns and it's how she adapts. She's quick on her feet, but her mind is even sharper. She's an intelligent young woman and entirely self taught. But that education comes from her observational skills. She was blessed, or cursed, with a photographic memory. It's not something that can be explained or understood, but she realizes that she can learn something by seeing it once or twice. It's the only reason why she was able to make it this far without joining a gang or finding a job.
She grew up on a large ranch outside of the main stretch of town. Her daddy was a successful cattle farmer with a strong line of working ranch horses as well. However, being as far out as they were, they were far more vulnerable and open to attack. And that attack came when she was ten years old. She had never been much of a girly girl, to her mamma's dismay, but it's what allowed her to survive the attack by the Native Americans that day. Her daddy put her up on one of their younger horses who was three at the time. The stud was barely broke, but he was fast and her daddy knew she needed a getaway horse. He packed her with his pistol and the family's shotgun, telling her to git with a slap to the stud's rear. She pulled the horse up in time to see her daddy cut down in his tracks, her mamma being yanked from the house by her hair. She still does not know what happened to her mamma to this day but she refuses to think about it. She's thankful that she didn't suffer the fate of her family, but she regrets running the way she did. However, she took her daddy's advice and took off. She never looked back.
She survived by robbing and thieving. It's something that's second nature to her. Her innocent face allows people to trust her, even when she's a stranger in a new town. She still has the stud that she took off on that day, and he's about as ornery as they come at thirteen now. She appreciates him though, and there have been many occasions in which men tried to steal him from her. She's quick with a gun and has never hesitated to unload the rounds if the situation calls for it. She knows that she's not the best outlaw out there. She has a ton to learn because she's never had any guidance. She's about as crooked as they come though and has no interest in anyone's well being but her own. She survives because she has no choice. She wants her life. She doesn't hesitate to shoot first and ask questions later, and it's why she's on the run from the law now. She's a rogue outlaw and that suits her just fine.
FRIENDS
She's not going to have very many friends. She's never settled down long enough to make those kinds of relationships, and she certainly isn't the type to trust. She only trusts herself and her horse, and that's how she's made it so far in this life. But she does need someone, or a few people in her life that she can turn to in a bind. If they make the friend cut, then that's absolutely fantastic! She doesn't say much, but when she does say it, it holds a lot of meeting. She can be sharp tongued and quick witted if a situation calls for it, but she's gotten herself into many a brawl in which she couldn't handle herself. She's been beaten by men that she's foolishly tempted. She will never be able to out power or overcome a man in a fight, but that knowledge seems to escape her when her temper flares out of control. The point is, it would be nice for her to have someone to back her up, or pull her out when she's in over her head. So, anyone? She's not that bad, and once she's your friend, you'll have one for life!
ENEMIES
She's going to have PLENTY of these. She steals without a care in the world. She doesn't care if you are poorer than she is. It's all fair in her eyes. But because of that, she's earned no sympathy from anyone, and she simply doesn't ask for it. She takes care of herself and her horse and that's all that matters to her. She is a selfish individual, and that's alright with her. Rio has never asked for hand outs and she never will. She's too stubborn and too proud to sink to that level. So she steals. And steals. And steals. She's even murdered to get what she desperately needs. So yeah, she'll have a line of enemies a mile wide. The law enforcement members being at the top of her list. Any takers?
LOVERS
She's not like every other girl in town. She doesn't respond to advances from men unless they get a bit too rough in their demands. In that case, she'll send a good knee to their groin before they can really react. However, when that happens, she takes off running because she's gotten plenty boots to her face as punishment for her hit. Basically, it'll be hard to win her affections, but eventually, I would like her to settle down. She's a spitfire, as mentioned before, but she's got a great sense of humor and a drive unlike any other. She's a good girl, sometimes. It'd be nice for her to have a man eventually, but it'll be a surprise if anyone wants her. But, seriously, let me know if you have any ideas, or if you're interested because I'd love to work something out!
So that's Rio in a nut shell. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Basically, she's a tough little girl who has made it through life because of what she was given by her father and her mother. She takes care of herself. She's number one in her mind, as well as her horse. If you mess with her horse or her, there will be some retaliation. It might not leave much of a mark, but she'll try her heart out. She's got a spirit that can't be broken, and she's as tough as they come. She's got a wild streak that anyone is welcome to try to tame, but no promises there. However, the girl does have a soft side. She's broken from what happened to her mamma and daddy and has never, ever faced that tragedy. She's too afraid to. Inside, past the walls she has built up around herself, is one very scared girl who has not gotten over her past. She's a very deep, complicated person, and she hides her pain with this strong facade. It's the only way she can survive. Please plot with her? I'll give you cookies =D
